So many of us walk around settling in our lives because we believe that our dreams are meant for someone else. Our creator makes no mistakes. Yes there are limitations in this life but the essence of our heart’s desires still stands. We are told to settle and what life should be by people who have accepted what their life is. How many times have we heard being a grown up is basically just misery? When we are children we understand that life is beautiful and full of wonder. As we get older this world molds and shapes us until we settle and become palatable to the people around us. Yet, I believe in a lot of us lies a dreamer. Even if we cannot land amongst our greatest achievements we can still leave this world in a kinder place than we first touched it. We see children on a playground make instant friends without even knowing someone’s name. They encourage one another and dream together no matter the circumstance. Yes, there are hiccups and bumps in the road but they are easily smoothed over and they are back playing once again. We all have that heart within us. Settling and not believing in our greatness and the greatness of others causes us to wilt like flowers. When we see that we are beautiful and capable, we can easily see that others are beautiful and capable.
Wayne Dyer has a beautiful quote that says “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”. Any of us can be diminished by our circumstances. This world is full of reasons to draw back and be unkind. It has plenty of reasons to stop dreaming and to stop reaching for a dream. I implore you to keep dreaming and to keep striving. To smile at someone, to see the beauty in yourself and in someone else.
